Genome Alberta had a tall task – deliver a regular corporate newsletter, with minimal staff and a tight budget. Eschewing the more traditional quarterly glossy-printed mailout, this progressive team wanted to go virtual; delivering more news, more regularly to their audience. They were among the first in their field to adopt social media as a corporate communication tool, and wanted to leverage it to maximize client & stakeholder engagement.
Using their content management tool, Marqui, we developed a newsletter template, delivering biweekly emails to their subscribed members, and populating their newsletter webpage. When their Genomics and Ethics, Environment, Economic, Legal and Society newsletter needed a new editor, we were able to step in to keep the noted e-publication running, on-time, within budget.
When the site was due for a refresh, we provided a strategic content plan, further connecting social media into their communication design.
Genome Alberta continues to lead their field in online engagement. Their newsletters are received by stakeholders, researchers, policy makers and the general public throughout Canada, and are noted for their excellence in communication, content, reach and availability.
